WindowPRO Wins Industry Dealer of the Year Award
October 12, 2009 – Window & Door Window & Door, the leading publication serving the window and door industry, has announced that WindowPRO has won its 2009 Dealer of the Year award for “Innovative Thinking.”
“I think there are some great lessons to be learned from WindowPRO’s innovative approach,” says Christina Lewellen, senior editor for Window & Door. “They have found a way to succeed in the tumultuous market of the last couple of years. WindowPRO knows the importance of core values and consistent performance. That’s why they’ve been recognized in this program, and that’s why I’m confident they’ll have continued success into the future.” “Industry leaders like WindowPRO serve as a benchmark that other companies can look to in order to asses their own businesses,” notes John G. Swenson, Window & Door editor/associate publisher. “Our industry demands an increasing level of sophistication in all aspects of business today and WindowPRO is at the forefront of that trend.” Â “We are grateful for the recognition by our industry’s leading publication,” says Jake Zahnow, WindowPRO President and 5th generation member of the family business. “The recent challenging economic conditions demand out-of-the-box thinking. WindowPRO has made significant changes in the last year and one of the greatest lessons learned is that developing your own brand and your own service is an important thing.” WindowPRO is located at 16900 Bagley Road, Middleburg Hts., Ohio 44130. Jake Zahnow can be reached at 800-421-2434. They also are located in Columbus, Toledo, and Detroit. The Secret To My Success
Friday, March 13, 2009 – Plain Dealer By 2006, WindowPRO became one of Renewal by Andersen’s largest affiliates in Ohio. That was three years after Jake Zahnow exited an 80-year-old family business in wholesale distribution to focus solely on the retail home improvement business.
WindowPRO is a seven-time Weatherhead 100 winner and recently doubled its marketing reach by entering an agreement with Marvin Company, the largest manufacturer of custom windows in the world.
To be a successful leader in the industry, said Zahnow, you need to be engaged 24/7/365. “A 40-hour Monday through Friday work week does not apply to the home improvement business. If you want regular hours, this is the wrong industry to go into,” he said.
Zahnow credits his success to having a lot of optimism, a willingness to change and resiliency. As a business owner, you have to be optimistic about the future and always view challenges as opportunities, he added. Don’t waste time wringing your hands about the economy. Instead, find opportunities to succeed in this economy.
“No one wants to buy from or do business with a pessimist,” Zahnow said. “The glass is always half full here, by nature and not by necessity.”
WindowPRO’s 80th Anniversary
February 23rd, 2009 – Crain’s Cleveland Business WindowPRO, which in 2008 celebrated its 80th year in the building material sales business, has started 2009 by adding Infinity from Marvin and Marvin Windows and Doors to its product line.
The company, formerly a Renewal by Andersen affiliate, does business as Infinity from Marvin by WindowPRO in the replacement segment of the market and operates as WindowPRO in the trade professional and commercial segments of the market. Jake Zahnow, WindowPRO president and a fifth-generation member of the family business, says the company has been able to sustain growth “because our team has been able to adapt to changing market and customer needs over the years.”
WindowPRO Adds Affiliation With Infinity from Marvin From Marvin and Marvin Windows and Doors
January 2, 2009 – Cleveland, Ohio Beginning January 1, 2009 WindowPRO is adding Infinity from Marvin and Marvin Windows and Doors to its product line. Formerly a Renewal by Andersen affiliate, WindowPRO will go to market as Infinity from Marvin by WindowPRO in the replacement segment of the market and WindowPRO in the trade professional and commercial segments of the market.
“In 2008, WindowPRO celebrated 80 years in building material sales in Ohio,” says Jake Zahnow, WindowPRO President and 5th generation member of the family business. “Like Marvin, we’ve grown because our dedicated team has been able to adapt to changing market and customer needs over the years. Infinity from Marvin and Marvin together represent the next evolution of our business, and a tremendous long term growth opportunity for WindowPRO. On top of our shared values and commitment to our customers, employees, and communities, we also share a vision for long term growth and profitability. Even in the current economic environment where customers demand the highest quality, visually appealing, energy efficient products, we believe Infinity from Marvin and Marvin together will give us a significant competitive advantage.” ”We’re extremely excited to join forces with WindowPRO in Ohio,” says Dan Marvin, Infinity from Marvin Business Unit Manager. “Their record of growth along with their knowledge of the replacement segment, and dedication to its customers and employees made them a natural fit to join the Infinity from Marvin and Marvin team,” Marvin adds.
“We have always associated with the top-of-the-line suppliers and we believe Marvin and Infinity from Marvin make the highest quality windows and doors in the world,” Zahnow added. One of the best aspects of this relationship is that the Marvin family is deeply involved in the business. They have an incredible devotion to their customers, employees, their communities, and most of all the quality of their windows and doors – because their name is on their products.”
Marvin Windows and Doors is the largest made-to-order window and door manufacturer in the world. In 2007, J.D. Also in 2008, Window & Door magazine has named Marvin Windows and Doors’ Ultimate Replacement Casement the most innovative window from a large manufacturer.
The Infinity from Marvin replacement windows set a new industry standard by offering consumers an attractive, durable, and virtually maintenance-free window replacement option. Made with Ultrex, a state-of-the-art protruded fiberglass material that out performs all other window materials in strength and durability.
WindowPRO will feature Infinity from Marvin’s expanding line of products including double hungs, casements, awnings, and gliders that are custom-sized to fit into an existing window frame without disrupting interior trim, interior walls or siding. Infinity from Marvin windows are professionally installed by WindowPRO’s experienced window experts – resulting in a simple, hassle-free homeowner experience.
“Infinity from Marvin is designed to be a best-in-class solution for window replacement,” shares Zahnow. “The product delivers the combination of low maintenance and high performance that today’s discerning homeowners demand. Homeowners can have confidence in knowing that Infinity from Marvin is backed by Marvin – an industry leader with a 60-year track record for creating windows and doors of superior quality, craftsmanship and beauty.”
